BIO International Convention hosted annually by the Biotechnology International Organization took place in Boston between 18-21 June 2012. The official Turkish Delegation, headed by Nihat Ergun, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology, participated for the first time in this event.

The Turkish pavilion was inaugurated by the Minister Nihat Ergun. At the Turkish Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association’s stand situated in the pavilion, Turkish Pharmaceutical Exporters Catalogues were distributed. The film about the Turkish pharmaceutical industry was broadcasted also in the Turkish pavilion.

During the Convention, events and meetings about the latest biotechnological studies carried out by the pharmaceutical industry took place.  Minister Nihat Ergun, emphasizing Turkish pharmaceutical industry’s competitive capacity with the world in terms of knowledge, infrastructure and strategic location, declared the main target as rendering Turkey to the regional hub in accordance with its production and R&D capacities.
